Power wires, transformers’ thieves busted


FAISALABAD - The police claimed to have arrested seven-member gang, said to be involved in stealing electricity wire and transformers and recovered the stolen electric appliances.
According to details, the police carried out a raid on Sargodha Road and busted a 7-member gang who stole power supply wires and transformers from different localities of the city during loadshedding hours.
During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed that they used to remain alert and as the power supply disrupted they pull down the transformers and wires and take them away within 30 to 40 minutes time.
Upon information provided by the detainees the police recovered thousands of metres of wires and several transformers from a house in Lahore.
The culprits revealed that they sell the stolen electricity appliances to small industries and traders.
Meanwhile, the citizens have lauded the police performance for arresting the accused which had become a headache for them.
