LAHORE – Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the reconstruction of Joseph Colony is in full swing.
“Forty affected houses have been repaired and are ready to be handed over to the owners,” he said while presiding over a meeting to review rehabilitation at Model Town, Friday. Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senator Kamran Michael, Advocate General Ashtar Ausaf Ali, Education Minister Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman were also present.
The chief minister said that the Day of Forbearance was been observed in Punjab to promote peace, tolerance and brotherhood in the society. He said that Pakistan belongs to everyone and protection to the rights of the minorities is a collective responsibility.
 He said that the elements involved in Badami Bagh incident will not be spared and would be awarded due punishment. He directed the police to arrest all the accused persons named in the FIR as early as possible while prosecution will complete challan of the case and put the same before the special court immediately.
The Chief Minister directed that police should fulfill the demands of justice at any cost disregarding any pressure. The Chief Minister was also given a briefing regarding progress into Badami Bagh tragedy and rehabilitation activities for the affectees.
DCO visit: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal on Friday visited Joseph Colony along with American Consulate officers. The DCO briefed American Consulate delegation members regarding rehabilitations of the victim families.
