Rs3.3m snatched, recovered after op



PESHAWAR – The city police arrested three robbers and recovered looted amount of Rs 3.3 million from their possession here on Friday.
According to the police, a complainant Qadir Khan, resident of Takhtbahi, got an FIR filed with the Sharqi police station and informed that he was coming to Swati Patak area carrying heavy amount of 3.3 million rupees when armed robbers intercepted him near Jail Bridge and snatched the amount from him.
He also mentioned that the accused persons belonged to Chaghalpora and he was accompanied by his cousin in the taxi.
Acting upon the information, Chief of Capital City Police directed Station House officer Sharqi police station to constitute a team for raiding the suspected hideouts of robbers.
After a detailed investigation, the police raided an area in Swati Patak locality and arrested two accused identified as Jafar and Ilyas, residents of Chaghalpora, and recovered the snatched amount, a pistol and a motorbike from their possession.
The police registered FIR and started further investigation.
