Sikh found murdered


LAHORE – A 23-year-old Sikh was found murdered from Sheikhupura area, a day after he was abducted by four gunmen from the Shalimar police area, police said on Friday. Police investigators believe that the man, later identified as Amarjeet Singh, was murdered over love-marriage since he had contracted second marriage two year ago. The police have removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made yet.
The family told the police that four people namely Sarrop Singh, Mustan Singh, Charan Singh and Ranjeet Singh raided the residence of the deceased on Thursday. They badly tortured Amarjeet and took him to unknown place. The Shalimar police had registered the kidnapping case against four persons.
On Friday, Amarjeet was recovered murdered from a deserted area in the Sheikhupu.  Sadar police limits. In-charge (Investigations) Sub Inspector Mohammad Boota said that Amarjeet Singh was murdered over the issue of love marriage.
