LAHORE- The Nation Editor-in-Chief Dr M ajid Nizami has said that Sarhadi Gandhi’ was against the inclusion of Sarhad province in Pakistan, but his descendants are enjoying all the comforts and luxuries in the country. He said that so much so that Asfand Yar Wali Khan’s mother is going to establish a new party.
He expressed these views while addressing ceremony held in connection with Dr MA Sufi’s two books titled ‘Safarnama’ and ‘Subha Sarhad ki Pakistan main Shamuliat and Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah ke Saathi’ at the Aiwan-i-Karkunaan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan Saturday.
Professor Dr Rafique Ahmad admired Dr MA.Sufi for his beautiful style of writing saying that his books and columns reflected his sincerity and commitment. He has also made his mark in the social services arena. He was an active member of the Anjuman-i-Himaat-i- Islam.
Mr. Shahid Rashid presented a short biographical sketch of Dr MA Sufi, saying that apart from his services for the creation of Pakistan, he also helped with the task of the refugees’ rehabilitation and participated in the Kashmir struggle.
Ahmer Bilal Sufi thanked Mr Shahid Rashid for introducing his father to the audience and highlighting the personal and professional aspects of his life. He said that his father preferred to stay in Pakistan and never accepted any offer to settle down abroad. He remarked that his father led his life on several planes, which is surely not the easiest thing in the world. He would run a clinic in the evening and in the morning; he would dictate a portion of his new book to a hired steno.
Begurn Bushra Rehman paid a rich tribute to the writer M.A Sub on his literary products as well as his physical offsprinig. She was all praise for Ahmad Bilal Sufi who embodied the most commendable and adorable qualities of a young man. She stressed the need for imparting to our young such education and training as would turn them into a character like Quaid-i--Azam, Dr. Majid Nizami, Professor Dr. Rafique and Justice (r) Munir Ahmad Mughal observed that the M.A. Sub’s written works so admirably and sincerely reflect his unconditional love for the homeland.
