Presiding over a meeting of Ghazi University in the presence of a team of Higher Education Commission, Vice Chancellor M Saqib Aziz said that the varsity was imparting quality education in the backward area of South Punjab.

In accordance with the Ghazi University Act 2012, the Government Postgraduate College for Boys DG Khan, College of Agriculture, DG Khan Campus of the University of Agriculture, BZU sub-campus and Ghazi Medical College had been reconstituted and merged with Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan.

The vice chancellor said that university consisted of 1,189 acres of land. In the university, there are 81 classrooms, 61-room admin bloc, five libraries, 39 laboratories, five hostels and seven sports grounds. There are 37,159 books and 464 journals in the five libraries. Currently, 5,243 students are studying here.

HEC Director General Farmanullah Anjum, Director Tahir Farooq, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Jabbar, Assistant Prof Dr Nadeem Afzal, Principal Dr Shamim Hassan, Muhammad Jamil Khan, Dr Javid Iqbal, Dr Hasnain Nohi, Nadeem Iqbal, Shoaib Raza and others were present.

TRANSFER: Civil Judge DG Khan Rashid Hussain Chaudhry has been transferred from DG Khan to Tehsil Darya Khan in district Bhakkar and Civil Judge Malik Abdul Sattar has been promoted by the order of Chief Justice of High Court Punjab Lahore.

Addressing the farewell party, District and Sessions Judge Rao Abdul Jabbar said Civil Judge Hussain Chaudhry had done his job very honestly.
