LAHORE - Political and religious parties have condemned the suicide bombing outside two churches and termed it another inhuman and violent act of terrorism to destabilise the country.

In separate statements issued on Sunday, the leadership of PPP, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen, Jamiat Ulam-e-Islam-F, Pakistan Sunni Tehreek and other parties expressed their grief with the families of dead and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

PPP central Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo and other leaders condemned the suicide attacks on two churches which resulted death of 15 innocent lives and many other injured.

He said that such coward acts of terrorists would not weak the resolve of the Pakistani nation that was more determined than ever to exterminate the evil along with their toxic ideology. PPP stood with the Christian Community of the country and share their grief, he added.

He said that terrorists were neither Muslims nor human beings or Pakistani and they are killing Pakistani indiscriminately, he maintained. He extended his deep condolences on behalf of the party and his own behalf to the bereaved families those have to bear the irreparable loss.

Senior PTI leader Ch Sarwar termed it a barbaric act against humanity and demanded of the government to ensure protection of minorities. He visited the blast site and expressed grief over the deaths and prayed for early recovery of the injured. PTI other leadership expressed their grief over the tragedy and said the terrorists have nothing to do with Islam.

Dr. Tahirul Qadri, the Chairman of the PAT, strongly condemned the suicide attacks on a Youhanabad Church in Lahore and said that it was a sad episode that the worship places of minorities had come under terrorists’ attack in which many innocent people had been killed and several left injured. He said on a day when Christians prayed only terrorists ruled the city and the law enforcing agencies were nowhere to be seen. He said this incident was enough to send this incompetent government packing.  He said the government acted in a barbaric way and innocents were dying everywhere. The PAT Chairman asked in which cage Khadam-e-Alla locked up himself when the citizens of Lahore were being killed. He said the information on these attacks was provided to the Punjab Government a few days ago, but it failed to act and take precautionary measures on the threats. He said whenever any damage come to the National Action Plan it will come at the hands of the rulers. He said these attacks have exposed the Punjab Government’s incompetence and mismanagement.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq, JI deputy chiefs, JI Secretary General Liaqaat Baloch and other senior party leaders have strongly condemned the suicide bombing at Uhanna Abad, in the Punjab capital. They said the terrorist activity aimed at diverting public attention from the current developments in Karachi. In a joint statement, they said that the bloodletting of innocent and peaceful citizens was a most cowardly and cruel activity, and added that the hand of the anti- state elements behind the tragedy could not be ruled out. They said the JI fully shared the grief of the Christian community. They called upon the government to trace the criminals immediately and award them deterrent punishment. They also expressed deep condolences with the bereaved families.

The leadership of the Milli Yakjehti Council Sahibzada Dr Abul Khair Zubair, Secretary General, and other leaders condemned the Yuhanna bomb blast. They said the enemies of Pakistan were targeting places of worship in order to create instability and chaos in the country.

PML-Q President Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader Ch Parvez Elahi have expressed their heartfelt sorrow and grief over explosions in Roman Catholic Church and Christ Church in Youhana Abad and said that the government has once again showed inefficiency.

Booth the leaders in their joint statement said that Christians and policemen killed and injured in the explosions were our brothers. They shared the grief of effected families and pray to Almighty Allah to grant solace to bereaved families to bear this great loss and pray for early recovery of injured persons.

They said that life and property of every Pakistani including the minorities was equally important and their protection was the duty of Pakistan Government. PML-Q has had always treated the Christians like brothers but injustice was done with them in every tenure of N-League, they said.

JUI-F Lahore chief Mohibunabi and other leadership condemned the attack and termed it a cruel act of violence. They said Islam gave fully protection to the minorities and attacked on the innocent lives was totally against the teaching of Islam.

Majlise Wahdatul Muslimeen, Pakistan Sunni Tehreek and other parties strongly condemned the violent attacks on innocent Christian community. They said the government failed to protect the common man. They termed the attack another attempt to destabilize Pakistan.
