PML-N’s Dr Shazra wins NA-137 by-election

NANKANA SAHIB - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Dr Shazra Mansab on Sunday won the NA-137 by-election by securing 77,890 votes, according to unofficial results. Independent candidate Ijaz Shah came second with 39,635 votes.
According to details, the turnout in all the 256 polling stations maintained at around 45 percent.
PML-N supporters opened aerial fire to celebrate Dr Shazra Mansab’s win. At least two PML-N workers were injured in a clash with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif congratulated Dr Shazra Mansab on winning Nankana by-election in a convincing manner.
He said that it reflected the confidence of the people in the development-focused policies of the PML-N government.
The prime minister, in his message, asked her to work towards bringing a qualitative change in the lives of the people of that area and contribute towards attaining PML-N's vision of making Pakistan a strong and prosperous country, said a statement issued in Islamabad.
