Robbers run over by public rage

KARACHI - Two alleged robbers were tortured to death by a mob in Baldia Town while two others were rescued by the police, here on Sunday. According to the police, the four suspects were busy in looting citizens travelling on a passenger bus of route No D-7 at Hub River Road in Baldia Town. The passengers while showing resistance overpowered all four robbers. They were caught by the mob while fleeing.
The mod assaulted them while other passerby joined in.  By the time the police reached the spot two robbers wee beaten to death by the mob while the other two were saved by the police. The injured robbers were shifted to Civil Hospital in critical condition.  According to the police the killed robbers were later identified as Saleem and Abdul Ghaffar and the injured as Qadir and Omar. Police said that a case will also be registered against people for taking law into their hands. Separately, a suspected robber, namely Arshad alias Kakku reportedly escaped from the custody of Mobina Town police.
Orangi blast case registered by police
Police have registered the case of Orangi Town bomb blast which claim two lives and wounded seven people, on Sunday. According to Orangi Town police, at least two people were killed while ten others were wounded when a bomb device (around one kg) was planted underneath a burger-cart detonated in a crowded locality near Brohi Hotel in Orangi Town on Saturday night. Bomb Disposal Squad claimed that a mobile phone was used. Police officials have yet to ascertain the motive behind the incident.
However, the police on behalf of deceased’s Shakeel’s family have registered FIR No 41/15 under the anti-terrorism act whereas section of ¾ of the explosives act and 302, 324 and 427 of the Pakistan Penal Code were also included in the case.
Blast kills one, wounds
 dozen in Karachi
A bomb went off at a hotel in Karachi on Saturday, killing one person and leaving a dozen others wounded. The blast took place near some Barohi Hotel in Orangi Town. According to sources, unknown miscreants lobbed a hand grenade near the hotel and sped away. Rescue teams reached the scene and shifted the wounded to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where emergency was declared. Six of those wounded are said to be in critical condition.
On the other hand, bomb disposal squad has been called in to scan the area. In a separate incident, a Rangers man identified as Chaudhry Nisar was shot and wounded near Five Star Chowrangi.
Sources say that Nisar was shot at after he resisted an armed robbery attempt.
This comes hours after Karachi police chief Abdul Qadir Thebo said that no firing incident happened in the city since two days.
