Six persons including a woman and three children were killed in different rain-related incidents in different areas on Sunday.

As per details, in Multan at least three persons were killed while one sustained injuries when roof of a dilapidated house collapsed in Bilal Nagar area.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, Tehmina, her 19-year-old son Rehan, three-month-old daughter Zainab and nephew Ahmad got entrapped under the rubble when dilapidated roof of the house collapsed due to heavy rain.

On information, rescue teams arrived at the scene and pulled out the family members from under the rubble. They were shifted to hospital but the three children - siblings and their cousin, succumbed to their injuries on the way.

Condition of Tehmina is also said to be critical.

In Dera Ghazi Khan, three persons including a woman died after heavy rain followed by thunderstorm that paralyzed life with rainwater standing everywhere on main roads, streets and populated areas.

The met department said that DG Khan received record 53 mm rain, exposing the TMA efficiency to drain out rainwater due to which most of the main commercial hub remained closed on Sunday.

As per the rescue officials, Ghulam Abbas Dasti, a resident of village Shero Dasti, Hajran Mai of Basti Chappra and Gulzar Ahmed died in the three separate incidents of roof and wall collapse.

In most of the city areas, power supply remained suspended for hours apart from regular loadshedding spell that also added to the miseries of the common man.

The rain that started late Saturday night continued after midnight whiles another spell of rain started early Sunday morning, continued till noon.

Resultantly, four to six feet rainwater accumulated on New College Road, Golai Committee, Saddr Bazaar, Faridi Bazaar, Liaqat Bazaar, Faisal Chowk, New Quaid-e-Azam Road, Railway Road and number of other commercial points of the city.

On the other hand, poor sewerage system in populated areas of Fareedabad Colony, Shakir Town, Sikhani Colony, Bhutta Colony, Muslim Town, Siddique Abad Colony, Buzdar Town, New Model Town, Mehtir Colony Chowk and Churahata area remained choked, inundating the streets as well as low-lying houses.

The Met Department officials said that more widespread rain with thundershower were expected in DG Khan during the next 24 hours.
