Hundreds of polio workers threw polio vaccine vials on the road as a protest for the acceptance of their demand of early implementation of their relief package.
The protesters including male and female vaccinators and paramedics observed strike at all the governmental hospitals and staged protest demonstration. They also took out a protest rally from DHQ hospital. They chanted slogans against the executive district officer health.
They said that it had not been implemented for the last four years. They threatened to boycott anti-polio campaign in case their demands were not accepted by the government.
ANF nails Int’l drug peddler: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) nailed an alleged international drug peddler during an overnight raids following information extorted from an accused who was busted with narcotics at Lahore Airport.
Reportedly, the ANF team conducted a raid in the most congested locality Rehmanpura situate in the remit of Urban Area Police. The raiding team arrested a person identified as Rashid for patronising drugs trafficking abroad.
According to the officials, the accused allegedly running the business of sending drugs abroad to Malaysia and other countries. Meanwhile, family of the Rashid claimed that they didn’t know anything in this regard. The Urban Area Police SHO said that the ANF officials had informed local police and that he also visited the residence of the alleged accused.
