Malala Yousufzai, the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner and co-founder of Malala Fund, tweeted on Thursday congratulating the students and for their first day at School.  

Malala has founded a school at her hometown, Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She used the amount of Malala Fund, which was established by her prize money of Nobel peace Prize, for establishing the school for girls.

In November 2014, addressing a seminar on education “Malala Education Seminar”, she vowed to establish more schools for girls in her native town.

Malala said that she wanted to provide quality education to girls in Shangla. She explained that there are very few schools for girls and majority of them are not even having basic facilities. Also, she said that, “Twenty-five underprivileged children are being funded through this programme to get education at standard schools,”

The Nobel Peace laureate co-founded the Malala Fund with her father and the Fund is run by a board of trustees along with Malala and her family. It supports the education and empowerment of girls in Pakistan and around the world and provides grants to civil society organisations and individuals focused on education.
