This is in relation to an interview of BJP chief, Mr L. K. Advani, that was aired by a TV channel recently. We know that BJP and RSS have always rejected the partition and they often spoke for unbroken federation of India (Akhand Bharat). No surprise then that Mr. Advani said, "Both the countries feel that partition has not solved the problems". He very cleverly paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam and regretted that Pakistan didn't follow his vision. He also advocated that Kashmir issue should take a back seat to trade and information exchange. This type of propaganda is being done by the Indians to mislead the world. In the garb of claiming themselves to be 'the biggest democracy', they have always suppressed the minorities and low caste Hindus. We know that Mr. Jinnah was the greatest supporter of Hindu-Muslim unity but due to their double standards, he joined Muslim League and created Pakistan. If confederation was the solution, then there was no need to give colossal sacrifices during the Partition. -BILAL SHAHID, Rawalpindi, via e-mail, April 29.
