LAHORE - A rival group killed a 30-year-old man over old enmity at Nonarian Colony in Sherakot Area late on Friday night, police said. The deceased was identified as Shahid alias Sayein, resident of Kareem Block. A police source privy to the development, however, said the deceased was a trusted accomplice of one late Mubeen Butt, who was also gunned down in police 'encounter some months back. According to FIR (361) registered against unknown accused in Police Station Sherakot, Shahid went to visit his friend Gulraiz on Friday night at latters residence located at Nonarian Colony in Street No 17 about 11:45 pm. Police source disclosed that Gulraiz had already invited the rival group of Mubeen Butt at his residence. They sprayed bullets on Shahid when he was entering the house. He sustained severe bullet injuries and died on the spot while Gulraiz along with his accomplices fled away from the crime scene, the source further said. On duty officer, however, said the body was lying in the aforesaid street when police reached the spot. According to investigation wing of Sherakot, the heirs of Shahid had alleged that Gulraiz was involved in the murder of their son. The accused was still at large till filing of this report while the police concerned were raiding the residence of Gulraiz. Further investigations were underway. Two passengers held, 5kg heroin seized Airport Security Force (ASF) claimed on Saturday to have arrested two passengers and seized 5 Kg heroin from their possession, said spokesman of ASF here. He said that accused Muhammad Arshad and Adnan Ahmad were trying to board the Dubai bound PIA flight Pk-623 at 7:20 early morning. Both the accused have concealed the said narcotics in the hidden pockets of their suitcase. Sub-Inspector Sohail declared the baggage of the accused suspicious and ASI Khalil during search recovered the same. Spokesman said that both the accused are South African and have been handed over to ANF for further action.
