ISLAMABAD (Online) - Taking serious notice of power breackdown in Karachi after the suspension of gas supply to Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC), President Asif Ali Zardari has directed Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to take urgent measures to end the energy crisis in the metropolitan City. Quoting sources, a private TV channel said the prime minister informed the president that directives had already been issued to provide furnace oil to the KESC for normalising supply of electricity. According to the private TV channel, the suspension of 100 million cubic feet gas supply had reduced the power generation by 300 MW.
