British envoy visits Nine-Zero

KARACHI - Susan Hyland, the acting deputy high commissioner of the United Kingdom in Karachi, visited Nine-Zero, the MQM’s head office, on Tuesday.She was welcomed by MQM Coordination Committee Deputy Convener Nasreen Jalil. Later, the two headed into talks over the political and economic situation in the country. Hyland showed particular interest in knowing the MQM’s position on various national issues. Member of the coordination committee, Kunwar Khalid Younus and Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs Faisal Sabzwari, were also present. Meanwhile, Khalil Qureshi, member Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh Council, has urged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to shun the politics of confrontation. In a statement, he was of the view that such a policy on the part of PML-N would be harmful for the federation. He further pointed out that by opposing the CoD, Nawaz was weakening democracy.
