SIALKOT

The posts of 177 senior professors (from Grade 17 to 20) in 74 government boys and girls colleges in Gujranwala Division’s all the six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts have been lying vacant since long.

According to the senior officials of Education Department, 100 seats of professors have been lying vacant in boys’ colleges since long while, 70 posts of professors have also been lying vacant in girls’ colleges, due to which the teaching system was lying badly affected in these colleges, causing a big education loss to their students.

The teachers, students and their parents have expressed grave concern over this nasty situation and they have urged the concerned higher officials to make some direly needed effective, positive and practical steps to ensure early appointments on the above-mentioned prolonged vacant posts, in the larger interest of the local students.

ELECTION ACTIVITIES: Both Sialkot and Narowal districts are most likely to get a sizeable representation in the PML-N’s federal cabinet to be formed soon.

The well informed sources in PML-N disclosed that the newly elected legislators from Sialkot district and PML-N stalwarts, Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Zahid Hamid (Pasrur) and Ch. Ehsan Iqbal (Narowal), are likely to be inducted by PML-N in federal cabinet.

PML-N might give a portfolio of Ministry of Water and Power to Sialkot based Khawaja Muhammad Asif, portfolio of Ministry of Law to Pasrur based Zahid Hamid and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to Narowal based Ch Ehsan Iqbal. On the other hand, the newly elected eleven PML-N MPAs from Sialkot district are also busy lobbying for getting representation in the Punjab cabinet as being provincial ministers or special advisors.

RESERVED SEATS: Two candidates Shabeena Majid Wyne, sister of Daska based former PML-N MPA Muhammad Ashfaq Wyne and Gul Naz Shehzadi, wife of PML-N Sialkot District General Secretary Shujaat Ali Pasha, have been nominated as the party MPAs from the district on special seats reserved for the women.
