BNP-M protests rigging

Balochistan National Party (Mengal) staged a demo in Quetta and other towns of Balochistan on Wednesday against alleged rigging in May 11th polls.
BNP-Mengal Vice President Dr Jahanzaib Jamaldini, Sanaullah Balochistan and Agha Hassan Balochistan alongwith dozens of activists staged a demo outside the office of Provincial Election Commission Quetta.
Protesters chanted slogans against Election Commission and alleged rigging, stating through using delaying tactics the result of various polling stations and constituencies was manipulated. They said that they had formally informed Election Commission and also conveyed message through media about rigging but all in vain and ,added, that they would never accept such fraudulent results.
Meanwhile, BNP-Mengal activists also held protest demos against rigging in Panjgour, Hub, Gadnai, Sibi and Mastung.
On the other hand, Akram Dashti, a former Speaker of Balochistan Assembly and a candidate of National Party (NP), who contested elections from PB-50 Dasht Turbat, criticised the results.
He alleged the local administration and polling staff of being partial in his constituency, stating, that the polling staff cast bogus ballot papers after he was declared winner to snatch his mandate.
“This was all to snatch mandate and trust of the people in me,” he said.
He was of the view that BNP-M candidate Qasim Dashti was the other strong contestant from the same constituency but an unknown candidate of PML-N was declared successful dramatically who didn’t even have a vote bank in the area. He said that there were several polling stations where no PML-N camps and agents were present but still PML-N won elections.
