Parks role stressed


BAHAWALPUR
Cantonment Executive Officer Raja Ailia Asad has stressed the importance of playgrounds and parks for the healthy nation.
He said, “Hospitals could be empty if we spent time in playgrounds,” he said visiting and examining the development work of Gulzar Sadiq Park. He directed the staff concerned to make an all-out effort for the beautification of the park so that masses could engage in healthy activities.
He said that four parks in Cantonment area including Jinnah Park, Liaqat Park, Hashmi Garden Park had already been renovated and a large number of people were getting benefit. He appealed to the citizens to make cooperation with cantonment staff for the cleanliness and betterment of those public assets.
WHEAT TARGET: Deputy Director Food Rao Toheed Ahmad said that wheat purchasing campaign is in progress successfully in Bahawalpur Division and 49.19% of the target has been achieved.
He said that target was set in Bahawalpur District of 279300 metric ton wheat purchasing from which 143818 metric ton wheat is purchased until now and until 14th of May 2045629 gunny bags are issued to Agriculturists and farmers. The deputy director said that target was set in Bahawalnagar District of 253 thousand metric ton of purchasing wheat while 118094 metric ton wheat has been purchased until now and issued 1845061 gunny bags to the farmers and agriculturists. In District Rahim Yar Khan, 226400 metric ton wheat purchasing target was set from which 111313 metric ton wheat has been purchased while 1600103 gunny bags were issued to the farmers of District Rahim Yar Khan.
