Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced to establish its own power distribution company namely “Sialkot Electric Power Company” on self help basis for meeting the electricity needs of export-oriented Sialkot city and pull the export industries as loadshedding has badly hit the industries, putting them on the verge of collapse.
SCCI President Sheikh Abdul Majid disclosed this while talking to the newsmen. SCCI Vice Presidents Muhammad Ikram and Sheikh Kashif Almas were also present. The SCCI president said that the business community has found a solution to the energy crisis for getting rid of this crucial situation, in shape of establishing Sialkot’s own electricity distribution company on self help basis. “Now we are proud to announce that we are going to establish Sepco on self help basis”, he added.
He said that almost all the paper work had already been complete and now (after the marvelous victory of PML-N in May 11, 2013 general elections), the time was very high for us to go ahead and establish Sialkot’s own power distribution company Sepco in Sialkot on self help basis, as the trendy Sialkot exporters would invest in this project to be undertaken under the supervision of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Earlier, the Sialkot exporters had already completed the mega projects of establishing Sialkot Dry Port Trust, Sialkot Export Processing Zone (EPZ), Seerat Study Center Sialkot Cantt, constructing all the main inter-city roads under the Sialkot City Development Package, besides, establishing the Sialkot International Airport on self help basis, setting the unique examples of self help for the others to replicate them, SCCI President.
SCCI PLEASED WITH PML-N VICTORY: The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has greeted PML-N on its marvellous victory and becoming the single majority party in May 11, general elections.
In a press release issued here on Monday, SCCI President Sheikh Abdul Majid hoped that the PML-N under the dynamic leadership of Nawaz Sharif would work untiringly to bring relief and prosperity to the nation and fulfil promises made with the voters.
He wished and anticipated a better future for Pakistan in general and Sialkot in particular. He also appreciated the fact that all political parties contested the polls with best of the spirits and anticipated that they should lay aside their political differences and work in collaboration with the PML-N for a better future.
The SCCI president also lauded the voters for showing up in great numbers and cast their vote to register their mandate for a better future of Pakistan.
