Electricity being restored in Punjab, KP & Islamabad: Power minister

Minister for Power Awais Leghari has said that electricity is being restored to the system after certain power plants tripped off in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported by Radio Pakistan. 

Speaking in the National Assembly today on Wednesday on the blackout that hit certain parts of the country, the minister said the situation has been normalized in the federal capital. However, it will take two to three hours to fully restore the power system. He said an inquiry will also be conducted to assertion the facts of the blackout.

He said Secretary Power Division himself is sitting in the National Power Control Centre in Islamabad to monitor the situation closely.

Taking the floor, Mir Zafarullah Jamali announced his resignation from the National Assembly today. He said that he will send his  resignation in writing to the Speaker office.

The House is now taking up demands for grants for approval pertaining to different ministries and departments for the next fiscal year.

The House yesterday had passed ninety-two demands for grants of different ministries.
