RAWALPINDI - Commissioner Rawalpindi Haseeb Athar has said that posting of commissioners at divisional level will improve the coordination and performance of government departments at regional and district levels, adding the decision will not effect the devolution of powers system in Punjab. He said that this system would also help resolve the problems of citizens speedily and it would help remove the hurdles and difficulties confronted by the officers of the government departments in connection with procedural delays and coordination between district and provincial levels. He expressed these views while addressing a welcome dinner hosted in his honour by the district administration, Rawalpindi on his arrival to the town to assume his responsibilities as commissioner. Regional Police Officer Nasir Khan Durrani, CPO Rao Mohammad Iqbal, DCO Imdad Ullah Bosal, DCOs and DPOs of Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum and district and divisional heads of the government departments in Rawalpindi attended the dinner. Commissioner Rawalpindi said that he would extend all possible help by playing his role in removing the difficulties faced by the government departments. He said that government officers are also citizens of this country and are like the common people but they have to resolve people's problems. He said that should work efficiently to achieve the objective of good governance. DCO Rawalpindi Imdadullah Bosal in his welcome address said that with the appointment of Haseeb Athar as Commissioner Rawalpindi, officers of government departments would work under his guidance more diligently. He said that the performance of government functionaries would vividly improve and government officers would be able to implement government policies and instructions successfully.
