In the general elections, people voted for the parties contesting on anti-Musharraf ticket and the election 2008 was rightly considered a vote against Musharraf. Like wise the marvelous triumph of Ali Ahmad Kurd in the recent SBCA election in which he trounced his government-backed opponent may also be termed as a resounding vote in favor of rule of law and independence of judiciary.
