Cancellation of PM’s Dir visit irks PPP workers

UPPER DIR - Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday postponed his one-day scheduled visit to Upper Dir for the inauguration of Lowari Tunnel project, which enraged the party workers and caused disorder in the public meeting.
The tunnel was inaugurated by Federal Minister for Communication, Arbab Almagir. Thousands of the Pakistan People’s Party supporters had turned up for the function where arrangements for a big public meeting were finilised. The last-minute postponement of the PM’s visit embarrassed PPP leaders including Arbab Almgir, Najmuddin Khan, provincial minister Salim Khan, Mehmood Zeb, Humayun Khan and others.

He said the they were hoping that the PM would announce construction of Akhagram-Dir portion of the road and provision of gas.
