Drone attacks causing hatred among Pakistanis against US, Nawaz tells Olson

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif on Friday said the US should end drone attacks in Pakistan as Pakistanis are not terrorists, but terror victims.
Newly appointed US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson met Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind.
During the meeting, both the dignitaries discussed bilateral relations among various affairs of mutual interests.
The PML-N chief said Pakistan offered more sacrifices than others in the war on terror. Therefore, he said, the sacrifices of Pakistani should be respected in the world. He said the Pakistani nations want trade, not aid, from America.
He said the Pak-US relations should be based on equality and US should respect the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan. He said the drone attacks were counterproductive as these attacks were increasing hatred among the masses towards the US.
Nawaz Sharif greeted Richard Olson for assuming the office of US envoy to Pakistan. He expressed hope that Olson would play his role to strengthen Pak-US relationship and cooperation in economic, education and health sectors.
He also expressed hope that US under the leadership of Barack Obama would play its role for bringing peace in the world.
The PML-N chief said it is hoped that the ties between the two countries will improve during the new tenure of President Obama.
Olson said US highly respects the sacrifices of Pakistan in the war on terror. He said the US will continue its cooperation with Pakistan in different sectors, especially in energy sector. He said the war on terror was in the interest of the whole world.
