President Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Yaqub Khan and Prime Minister AJ&K, Chaudry Abdul Majeed called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf Friday at his Parliament House Chamber in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister said that the Pakistan Peoples Party’s association with the Kashmir cause was embedded in its history.

It was Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto, the founder of the PPP, who championed the cause of Kashmir and internationalized it, he added.

The Prime Minister reiterated the resolve of his government to continue its moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Jammu and Kashmirin their just demand for right to self-determination.

He said that settlement of this long-standing issue in accordance with the UN resolutions would pave the way for durable peace in South Asia.

The Prime Minister said that socio-economic development of AJ&K figured high on the democratic government's agenda.

The Prime Minister said that massive development projects have been completed during the tenure of the present government, which include universities, highways and bridges.

He said that the government was committed to early rehabilitation of earthquake-hit areas.

The Prime Minister further said that the federal

government will release funds for the timely completion of all on-going projects in Kashmir.
