KARACHI  - The Beaconhouse Group has arranged its first overseas educational conference in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia , on November 20-21.An official of the institution said here on Thursday that over 600 educationists, philosophers, modern day thinkers, classroom practitioners, leaders and others from four continents and 12 countries around the world including United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Singapore, Pakistan, UAE, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Oman, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia are participating in this conference to discuss the future of schools and education with a global perspective. The findings of this conference will be published and shared in all the above mentioned countries with the public and private sector schools to improve their working. “The School of Tomorrow: Empowering Lifelong Learners 2021’ is the fourth in a series of international conferences organised by Beaconhouse to explore a new vision of schools and the future of learning from a global perspective,” it was further pointed out.The series of international conferences organised by Beaconhouse began in 2000 with the event titled ‘Rethinking Education’. Coinciding with the Silver Jubilee anniversary of Beaconhouse, the conference led the way to what has become an exploration of the future of education from a broader, more global perspective.By 2005, the conferences had found their focus in the concept of The School of Tomorrow. This event, the most prominent international conference on education ever hosted by Pakistan, was so successful that it inspired the creation of ‘The New School’, known as TNS Beaconhouse, now a progressive IB World School, the official added.This conferences also adopted a last-minute tagline, ‘Learning to Live Again’ following the earthquake that took place less than 2 months prior to the event.In 2010, with the central theme of ‘The School of Tomorrow’ firmly established, the conference took a new tagline, ‘Freedom to Learn’, indicating a newer direction. This conference also adopted the tagline ‘Journey of Hope’ in light of the floods that took place just before the conference.The chief guest to the conference is Dato Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim, who is the Malaysian Information, Communication and Cultural Minister.
