LAHORE–Administration Committee of the Lahore High Court has confirmed the services of 13 district and sessions judges (DSJ) and of 49 civil judges-cum-judicial magistrates.

According to the minutes issued after delay of one day of the committee meeting, the DSJs, who have been confirmed, include Muhammad Akram, Waseemur Rehman Khan Khakwani, Muhammad Yar Gondal, Amjad Nazir Chaudhry, Muhammad Naveed Iqbal, Muhammad Asghar Khan, Muhammad Shabir, Syed Dawar Zafar Ali, Naseem Ahmad Virk, Asad Ali, Tariq Mahmood Bajwah, Tariq Javed and Nasir Hussain.

The cases for confirmation of four DSJs including Bakht Fakhar Bahzad, Muhammad Hussain, Atiqur Rehman and Wajahat Hasan have been deferred.

The 49 civil judges-cum-judicial magistrates, who have been confirmed, include Qaiser Hussain Mari, Naveed Abbas, Muhammad Zia-ur-Rehman, Saif Ullah Babur Janjiana, Muhammad Abdul Sattar, Muhammad Zaigham, Abdul Sattar, Amber Gul Khan, Muhammad Jamshaid, Shazia Munawar,

According to minutes, the services of Kalsoom Mustafa, civil judge of Faisalabad, have been terminated.

In view of exceptional circumstances and the cases of real hardships, the AC meeting has especially granted fifth chance to two civil judges, Syed Ali Waqas Bukhari and Sherbaz Khan, to clear their departmental examination and their cases for confirmation have been deferred therefore.

The disciplinary proceedings against Javed Nawaz Chaudhary, DSJ, have been abated owing to his retirement from the services while the action have been initiated against Muhammad Amjad Pervez, DSJ, Khizar Hayat Gondal, Additional DSJ of Khanewal and Muzaffar Hussain, civil judge of Nankana Sahib.

The AC meeting has issued a final show cause to Gulzar Hussain, civil judge of Lahore, for imposition of major penalty of removal from services.
