LAHORE – The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) has opened a two-day Regional Business Coordinators’ Conference at its head Office. The conference was attended by 22 Regional Business Coordinators based in 22 business centers of Pakistan including the four provincial chiefs from Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Lahore office of SMEDA.
SMEDA CEO, while expressing his views on this occasion said that main purpose of the conference was capacity building of the RBCs working at remote stations. He observed that varieties of new initiatives were being undertaken at head office and regional offices of SMEDA, which needed to be understood at a common wavelength in the entire organisation. He hoped that the presentations to be given in the conference on the ongoing projects and services of SMEDA would fill in the gap by creating a working harmony in the regional and central offices. The information and knowledge to be shared on this occasion would definitely enhance capacity of the regional business coordinators (RBCs), he added.
A special presentation was also made by Sajjad Bhutta, Director General Intellectual Property Organisation (IPO) on importance of Intellectual Property Rights for SMEs.
