LAHORE – A teenage factory worker was bricked to death by his colleague during their scuffle, which took place over a minor issue in Shahdara area, police said on Thursday.

Muhammad Muazzam and his co-worker Faisal exchanged harsh words over a minor issue while they were at work at a shoemaking factory located in Chaman Park in the precincts of Shahdara police. Faisal got infuriated and his Muazzam in the head with a piece of brick. Muazzam, said to be the resident of Mandi Bahauddin, sustained serious injuries and fell unconscious.

The attacker managed to escape from the crime scene. The injured was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The police have removed the dead body to the morgue for an autopsy and are investigating. A murder case has also been registered against the killer on the complaint of Bashir Ahmed, father of the deceased boy.

Found dead: A 50-year-old woman was recovered dead under mysterious circumstances from the canal in Batapur area. Police said that the dead body of the woman, yet to be identified, was floating in the canal as they reached the spot. Some passersby spotted the body and contacted the police. The body was removed to the morgue for autopsy. The police are investigating.

Killed: Two motorcyclists were crushed to death by a rashly driven tractor-trolley in Manawan police vicinity on Thursday. Fayyaz, 25, and Fazal Din, 28, riding on a motorcycle were on the way to their village in Manawan area when a rashly driven tractor-trolley smashed into their two-wheeler from the rear side. The men sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a local hospital where they succumbed to injuries.

The driver along with the tractor-trolley managed to escape from the crime scene. The police are investigating.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man, said to be a drug addict, was recovered dead from Tibbi City policed limits on Thursday morning. The police have removed the dead body to the morgue for an autopsy and are investigating.
