QUETTA - Two people, including a teacher, were killed and two others wounded in separate incidents of violence while a bullet-riddled dead body was found dumped in different towns of Balochistan on Thursday.

According to police, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a senior science teacher of a model high school in the Chatkan area of Panjgour district. As a resultant, he sustained serious wounds and died before reaching hospital. The assailants fled from the scene after committing the crime.

The local police moved the body to hospital for medico-legal formalities and, later, handed it over to the heirs for burial. However, the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.

In another incident, a man was killed in Sara Ghardgi, in the outskirts of Quetta. The Levies officials said that a man, identified as Ahmedullah, was shot dead in the Zarghoonabad area. The body was shifted to Quetta Civil Hospital and a case registered against unidentified killers.

Separately, two people were wounded when armed men opened fire on them at Western Bypass near Mengalabad. The injured, identified as Zakir and Ibrahim, were shifted to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital for treatment.

Police said the injured were returning to the city after purchasing vegetables from Hazarganji fruit market when they were targeted by armed men. The attackers escaped when police opened retaliatory fire. According to the police, the injured belonged to Hazara community of Shia Muslims and the incident seemed to be a case of sectarian nature.

Meanwhile, the police recovered a bullet-riddled body in the Uthal area of Lasbela district and shifted it to hospital for postmortem where its identity was established as Akbar.

The police said the victim was shot bullets in his head and chest while marks of torture were also visible on the other parts of the body. However, it could not be known who was behind the murder. Police have registered a case and started investigation into the incident.
