UN deputy humanitarian chief due today

ISLAMABAD – The United Nations Deputy Humanitarian Chief Catherine Bragg arrives in Pakistan today (Friday) on four-day mission (16 to 20 November), the world body announced Thursday.  Her visit aims to raise awareness of critical humanitarian needs and to call for more support for families in the flood-ravaged south of the country and those waiting to return home in north-western areas of Pakistan, a press release said.
The Assistant Secretary-General Bragg is expected to meet high-level government officials in Islamabad, to discuss how the UN agencies and other humanitarian partners can better support the Government of Pakistan’s humanitarian response and disaster preparedness efforts, it added.
