HYDERABAD - Senior Superintendent of Police Hyderabad Irfan Ali Baloch while declaring high alert in the district on November 21, 2016 has cancelled the leave of all policemen asking them to perform duty on Chahlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his 72 companions.

According to police spokesman, on the directives of SSP Hyderabad, the

ASP Headquarters Tuesday presided over a special meeting with Police officers of all concerned wings to review contingency plan regarding foolproof security arrangements on the day.

The meeting while reviewing the maps has decided to deploy adequate numbers of policemen at the Mazars and other sacred places as well as at the places of Majalis and mourning processions on Chahlum.

It also decided to strengthen high communication system between the policemen on duty and the members of the intelligence wings in order to avert any untoward situation during the day.

It also decided to close the shutters of the shops and seal the link roads and streets leading to the route of main mourning procession to be taken out from Qadamgah Moula Ali to Karbala Dadan Shah via Station Road, Lajpat Road, Society Chowk, Haji Shah Chowk, Jamia Masjid Road and St. Marry’s Chowk.

The meeting decided that a vigilance team would continue monitoring the arrangements for safe passage of the main mourning procession till its start to end. Besides, commandos of Anti-Terrorist Force of District Police would also be deployed at the front and back of the main mourning procession while Bomb Disposal Squad would also sweep out the route.

Moreover, watch towers and walk-through gates would also be set up with deployment of Police Commandos and Rangers at the route of mourning procession. All activities would be monitored through a control room.

The meeting also decided to beef up the security at the shrine of Sarfraz Baba on Chahlum Day in order to avert any untoward incident.

The meeting also reviewed the alternate routes of traffic and decided to publicise the traffic diversion plan through print and electronic media to facilitate the citizens.
