LHC seeks recommendations from doctor in sex change case

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought recommendations from the relevant doctor in sex change case of a girl Ayesha, 24 and adjourned the hearing till next date.

Shama Begum, in her petition took the stance that orders should be issued for allowing her daughter to undergo sex change surgery. Ultrasound report has indicated several proofs for changing the gender. She further viewed that the doctor is not ready to proceed with the operation because of sensitivity of the matter.

Later, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah after presiding over the proceedings on Wednesday sought recommendations from the relevant doctor.
