Speaker stresses solidarity ahead of Erdogan visit

LAHORE - Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has urged the politicians to not give an impression of split in their ranks when Turkish President will address the Parliament’s joint session tomorrow.

“We have great respect for the Turkish leader and the people of his country as such we all need to convey the message unity in our political ranks to the distinguished guest,” Ayaz told the media yesterday.

“We salute the Turkish people for standing up against the dictatorship,” he said, adding, Turkey, like China, has always backed Pakistan on Kashmir dispute.

Replying to a question on the PTI’s refusal to join the joint session, the speaker said PTI must welcome the Turk president ending all differences.

On Panama leaks, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said Imran Khan has leveled allegations against the PM and his family members only which, in his view, have not been supported by concrete proofs. Whatever material the PTI could have presented in support of the petition, it has done already. “And now it is for the apex court to decide the case, so let’s wait for the verdict and accept it after announcement.”

To a question, the Speaker strongly denied the Indian allegations of exporting terrorism on Pakistan and said, instead it was India grossly involved in carrying out terrorist activities in the country. “India through its agency, RAW, was involved in perpetrating terrorist acts in Pakistan and evidence in this regard had been presented to the global forums,” he added.

Ayaz further said the Indian troops have been unleashing worst kind of brutality on the innocent people of Kashmir. As to Kashmiris freedom struggle, he said, it is unstoppable for India and will reach the logical end.

Replying a question on persistent violations of the line of control by the Indian forces, the speaker said, Pakistan army is giving India a befitting reply. He said border violations had been going on over the years by India but our brave soldiers befittingly struck back. “The whole nation pays regard and respect to the bravery of our soldiers who are defending the borders laying down their live,” he added.
