ISLAMABAD - The National Assembly yesterday witnessed verbal brawl between government and the opposition over a recent episode relating to judiciary.
The lawmakers from both sides [Opposition and Government], with the start of the proceedings, ignored Question-Hour session and indulged in war of words.
PML-N’s Khawaja Muhammad Asif, on a point of order, demanded the chair to hold a debate on allegations levelled by the former Chief Justice of Gilgit-Baltistan. “This matter raises questions over authenticity of General Elections 2018,” he remarked.
“We have respect for judiciary...There is a need to protect sanctity of the House,” said PML-N’s parliamentary leader, adding that only politicians indulge in conspiracies against each other. Minister for Communication Murad Saeed, responding to the concerns raised by the PML-N’s senior member, said that incumbent government would not give NRO to anyone at any cost. “We will keep raising the issue of corruption committed by the previous rulers,” he said.

Another senior treasury benches member Asad Umar claimed that the opposition was itself facing differences and ditching each other for the last three years. The PDM would shatter within four months, he predicted.
