The joint session of both houses of Parliament is underway at the Parliament House in Islamabad today (Thursday). Speaker National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza is presiding over the in-camera parliamentary session. In today's session, the lawmakers will open debate on briefing given by the Federal Information Minister Sherry Rehman on national security.  Sources said that the parliamentarians would ask question about ongoing military operation in tribal areas and overall security situation in the country. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is also expected to attend the session. The prime minister will answer the queries raised by members of parliament regarding government's policy. Meanwhile, strict security measures have been taken before start of parliament's session.
