LAHORE - The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Wednesday urged the government to take immediate and concrete measures to control deteriorating law and order situation, which is hurting the whole business atmosphere and nobody would be ready to put money in any new venture if the situation remains the same. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the LCCI President Mohammad Ali Mian, Senior Vice President Mian Muzaffar Ali and Vice President Shafqat Saeed Piracha suggested to the government to expedite the intelligence network in the province besides further strengthening the police patrolling on highways. The LCCI office-bearers further said that the databank with proper picture of all the drivers plying loaders and heavy duty vehicles should be collected as in most of the cases the dacoits flee with loot with maximum ease as no data has ever been compiled by the authorities concerned. The LCCI office-bearers also proposed to the government to ensure parking of all the trucks or other heavy duty loaders at designated stands that would also help control crimes particularly in industrial areas. They said that an expeditious judicial system could also contribute to certain extent to purge the society of all such anti-social elements who are spoiling the whole atmosphere. The LCCI office-bearers urged the Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Inspector General of Police to look into the matter urgently as the dacoities in industrial areas have become order of the day and all the time the dacoits flee with booty quite easily.
