ISLAMABAD - Interior Ministry here on Friday issued transfer orders of three officers working in its passport offices allegedly on the charges of corruption and dereliction in official duty. According to sources in the Ministry of Interior, Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Deputy Director and Mubashir Ahmad Tirmazi, Assistant Director from Passport Office, Lahore have been immediately transferred from their posts. They have been directed to report to FIA Headquarters, Islamabad. In addition to that Deputy Director Production Islamabad, Ikhlaque Ahmad Qureshi has also been immediately removed from his post allegedly for negligence in duty. He will also report to FIA Headquarters. According to the sources, Interior Minister Rehman Malik had received some complaints of corruption in Passport Office, Lahore and these two officers have been removed allegedly on the charges of corruption. Interior Minister has also directed all the directors of passport offices in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Islamabad to probe the cases of corruption, if any, in their respective offices.
