ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and Oman have reiterated their desire to further enhance and broaden bilateral cooperation in all areas of common interest, particularly in the field of defence. This was discussed at a meeting held between Federal Minister for Defence, Ch Ahmad Mukhtar and Foreign Secretary of Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Yousaf Al-Harthy, here at the Ministry of Defence on Friday. Both sides underlined the need for promoting closer cooperation in the field of defence. The meeting agreed to exchange defence delegations and enhance interaction between the Armed Forces of the two countries. The Minister informed the Foreign Secretary of Oman that Pakistan attached greater importance to its ties with Oman, which had always been supportive to Pakistan. He said that both countries needed to further strengthen and enhance cooperation in defence field. He also highlighted the potential of the defence industry of Pakistan.
