Power cuts persist

LAHORE - Despite tall claims regarding the reduction in shortfall, loadshedding continued unabatedly with total duration of power cuts reached to 10 to 12 hours in the limits of Lesco. However, the Lesco officials attributed the power cuts to up-gradation of grid stations. The Lahore Electric Supply Company's consumers are facing tough time with unscheduled power outages with shortfall of 1,800 MW. Almost all the localities of the Lahore were facing power cuts of two to four hours, which were increasing the miseries of the people. According to PEPCO spokesman the total power generation on Thursday was 13,064 MW with demand of 14516 MW. Thus the shortfall was recorded at 1452 MW.
