OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has damaged the provincial industry by accepting weak gas formula, claims senior PML-Q leader Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi. Talking to a delegation of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry at his residence on Saturday, Pervaiz, who is federal minister for industries and defence production, claimed that Punjab was not getting its due gas share after signing the Source First Formula under the Council of Common Interest. He said that there was a dire need of promoting the industrial sector in the province and maintained neither the Punjab government taking any steps in this regard not it was allowing any other party to promote it. The federal minister claimed that the PML-Q government had not accepted the Source First Formula during its rule. Pervaiz maintained that law and order situation in the province so poor, which was one of the great hurdles in the growth of the industry. He claimed that the sitting provincial government instead of strengthening the PML-Qs industrial projects reversed them. Pervaiz remarked that industry was growing in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka, however the same was on the verge of collapse. He while saying that trade organizations and bodies voted for the PML-N, while the stated party was adopting anti-trader and businessmen policies. The federal minister said that the issues of the Chamber should be raised at the forum of CCI. PML-Q secretary information Punjab, Akram Chaudhary was also present on this occasion. Irfan Qaiser Sheikh led the LCCI team, while other office bearers were also present.
