A special committee has been formed to oversee distribution Rs500,000 as compensation to the family members of those died of dengue virus in Punjab, which was announced by the Punjab government. During a meeting on Sunday convened by Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif which was attended by lawmakers and secretaries of various departments, it was decided to constitute a special committee which will monitor the distribution of compensation money to the heirs of victim families in the province. The chief minister was briefed about various measures taken by the provincial government to combat the spreading of dengue virus. Mian Shahbaz Sharif directed the officials concerned to ensure complete ban on the transportation and business of old used tyres in the city which is considered to be birth place of the dengue mosquitoes. In the meeting especially convened to discuss the measures and efforts of the provincial government in curbing the spread of dengue virus which is claiming lives of the citizens routinely, the chief minister directed the health department officials to initiate training programmes for doctors and nurses in the entire province about the latest techniques of fighting dengue virus.
