Reliable sources of PPP have informed that co-chairman PPP and President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari and other senior leaders want to retain Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza in party ranks. It has been learnt that senior PPP leader and federal minister for Religious Affairs, Khursheed Ahmad Shah has met the dissident Dr. Zulfiqar, numerous times in order to unsuccessfully persuade partys Sindh strongman to cease his tirade against coalition partners, MQM, besides coming back to party folds. ONLINE News Agency has been informed by sources that the dissident leader has also been offered to contest successful elections from the constituency of PS-57, Badin, which has been outrightly rejected by an unwilling dissident. This refusal by Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza prompted PPPs offer to his son, which was again discarded by Mirza, who has also expressed his fears of his son being harmed by grudging elements. Sources have also informed that PPP leaders have also offered Badins by-elections to Speaker N.A, Dr. Fehmida Mirza. However this issue remains inconclusive until the return of Speaker N.A from her current tour of Albania.
