15 injured in Quetta hand grenade attack

QUETTA- At least 15 people, including three personnel of Balochistan Constabulary (BC), were wounded when armed men attacked BC’s truck with a hand grenade in the outskirts of Quetta on Tuesday.
According to police, the incident occurred on Mastung Road when armed men hurled a hand grenade at the truck of BC. Resultantly, the grenade exploded with a huge blast wounding 15 people, including three BC personnel and two children. The blast was so powerful that it also damaged other passing vehicles.
Police and other law-enforcement agencies rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. The injured were moved to hospital for medical aid. The injured were identified as BC personnel Hawaldar Naseer Ahmed, Constable Majeebullah and Constable Rasool Bakhsh, passersby Amir Hamza, Allah Nazar, Munir Ahmed, Muhammad Ali, Khair Bakhsh, Riazullah, Nadir Ali, Azizullah, Nadir Khan, Mehrullah, Safiullah, Mir Azam, Ehsanullah, 10, and Bibi Nadia, 4.
A case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
A spokesman for banned outfit Lashkar-e-Balochistan, calling from some unspecified location, claimed responsibility for the hand grenade attack.
BULLET-RIDDLED BODY FOUND IN PANJGOUR: A bullet-riddled dead body was found from an isolated area of Khudabadan of Panjgour district.
Police, on a tip off, recovered the body dumped near a water tank and shifted it to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities. The deceased was later identified as Shakir Ali.
