ISLAMABAD - Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday urged Overseas Pakistanis to play their role in making the country self reliant in economic field.
According to information reaching here, he was addressing Pakistani community in Birmingham, UK where he called upon overseas Pakistanis to remit their foreign exchange through legal channels.
“The Overseas Pakistanis are the asset for Pakistan and we will address their issues on priority basis and the present government will give them a meaningful role in the nation building process” he added. Ayaz Sadiq said the present democratic set up is facing variety of challenges that will be overcome with the help of the brave Pakistani nation and support of friendly countries like Britain. The Speaker said the country is on the way of democracy and heading towards development. He stressed on the need to continue the democratic process in the country for long term prosperity. Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar as a Governor of Punjab is the best example, he added.
He urged the Pakistani community in Britain to play an effective role for the projection of soft image of Pakistan.
He also called upon Overseas Pakistani to extend support to the victims and affectees of earthquake in Baluchistan.
