LAHORE - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar, and Federal Ministers Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Khwaja Saad Rafiq will celebrate Eidul Azha in Lahore. PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hassan will also celebrate Eid in Lahore while Ch Shujaat Husain and Ch Pervez Elahi in Gujrat.

President Mamnoon Hussain is in Saudi Arabia for the performance of Haj while former President Asif Ali Zardari, PPP patron-in-chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will spend the Eid days at their Ajman Farm House in Dubai.

Premier Nawaz Sharif and CM Shahbaz Sharif will offer Eid prayers at Jatti Umra while Punjab Governor at Bandashi mosque.

Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Bokhari and Federal Minister for Interior Ch Nisar Ali Khan will celebrate Eid in Federal Capital. President Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and President PML-Z Ijazul Haq will be in Rawalpindi on Eid while JUI-F Ameer Maulana Fazal Rehman will celebrate Eid at his native village in Dera Ismail Khan and Asfanyar Wali of ANP in Charadda. Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan will spend Eid days at Phoolnagar.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated the nation on the occasion of Eid, and said that this festival reminds of the supreme sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) for earning the blessings of Allah Almighty. He said that by following this sacred tradition of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), the Muslims all over the world sacrifice animals on Eid.

In his message on Eid, the chief minister said that on this auspicious day, there was a need to pledge that service to humanity would be made a pivot of life. He said while celebrating Eid, the nation should pray for the progress and prosperity of the country as well as vow that every effort would be made for national progress and prosperity through displaying the spirit of patriotism.

“Islam gives the message of peace, sacrifice and helping destitute persons, therefore, people should not forget their poor and indigent brethren on Eidul Azha and share Eid joys with them as it is a religious and moral responsibility,” he held.

Shahbaz Sharif said that an Islamic welfare society could be established by following the golden Islamic principles of justice, equality and love for humanity and collective effort would have to be made for this purpose.

He said that sacred festival of Eidul Azha also demands self-reformation and to make all out efforts for national progress and prosperity with a new vigor and determination.
