White Cane Day marked at Nasheman College Wah Cantt

Wah cantt - A colorful function held at Nasheman College for Special Children Wah Cantt on the eve of International White Cane Day on Wednesday. Lt Gen. Omar Mahmood Hayat, HI(M) Chairman POF Board was the chief guest on this occasion. On arrival at Nasheman College for Special Children, Chief Guest was received by MD POF Welfare Trust Brig (Retd) Taqdees Ahmed and Principal Farhana Tanveer. Chief Guest visited various stalls prepared by the special children. Special children presented national songs and beautiful tableau show.
Addressing on this occasion, Chairman POF Board remarked that special children have enormous talent and they expressed their thoughts and feeling by presenting various tableau shows in such a way that it realises that these children are really special and their capabilities are not less than others.
He further said that Nasheman College Wah Cantt holds a special identity in this region and the performance of students of this school and college is extraordinary and appreciable and it needs to improve further. Chairman POF Board stressed upon the administration of the college that the college staff should shoulder their responsibilities with honesty for the progress of the institution by utilising all available resources. Chairman POF Board announced a donation of rupees 2.5lac and ensured that POF administration would continue to provide more funds to the college. He announced fabulous financial assistance if a feasible project for college students is launched. He said that visually impaired persons deserve special attention so that they could become useful organ of the society.
Brig(Retd) Taqdees Ahmed, Managing Director POF Welfare Trust while addressing the ceremony said that Nasheman College has been striving hard to serve the humanity. Principal and teachers of this college deserved appreciation for their untiring efforts for the rehabilitation of special children. Recently five students of Nasheman College participated in Special Olympic held in Los Angles USA and won four Silver and Bronze Medals and brought good name for the institution and the county. Earlier, Principal Nasheman College in her welcoming remarks said that the purpose of celebrating the White Cane Day is aimed to realise to the society that special children are the vital part of this society and it is our responsibility to help them out and create opportunity to make them a useful citizen of the society.
