Lahore General Hospital has fired 31 contractual employees for long absence from duties.  The terminated employees included ward servants, security guards, ward cleaners, operation theatre attendants, lift operators, washers, naib qasid and packers.  Medical Superintendent Dr Mahmud Salah Uddin said that proper procedure has been adopted while sending these employees home. He said that there was no room for those not performing duties properly. He directed administrative doctors and nursing superintendent to maintain discipline and ensure daily attendance of all employees. He visited different sections and inspected attendance registers. He said that section head would be responsible for any discrepancy in attendance registers.
