Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday has said that world should be thankful to Pakistan for eliminating terrorism.
"Al-Qaida can never be defeated without Pakistan's help", DG ISPR said this while addressing students at Warwick University, London.
On the prevailing situation in the region and peace in Afghanistan, Ghafoor remarked, “Pakistan desires that the United States remains in Afghanistan till peace is established there.”
"Peace and stability in Pakistan are directly linked to Afghanistan", he added.
General Asif Ghafoor said Pakistani students, no matter where they are in the world should be proud for the sacrifices and contributions their country has made to the world.
“Pakistan will reach its true destination when Pakistani youth are empowered.” He also asked students to come to Pakistan after completing their studies and play their role.
Speaking about the attack Malala Yousafzai, he said, “She was attacked by terrorists who opposed education for women."
“Following Pakistan Army’s operations, we have successfully stopped the terrorists' attacks,” he further said.
